An eternity ago, when I was in high school, I was a punk. More like a punk/goth/anime kid. And one of the staples of my wardrobe were band tees. A friend gave me a The Starting Line tee, I picked up a My Chemical Romance tee from Hot Topic, and a few of my comrades wore this popular tee to showcase their love for The Used. The guy I crushed on had long hair down his back and one of the four shirts he wore was a Led Zeppelin tee.
Somewhere along the line I retired my music merch but more and more in the past few years I’m starting to see it make a comeback in fashion and I’m more than happy to take part.
I was shaking. Sitting on the edge of this concrete ledge my body felt tight and stiff with anxiety. We were about two stories up which isn’t that high I suppose but still, every second up there felt like an eternity. I tried to calm myself because I didn’t want to let the fear show on my face.
After about a minute it was over. I had to come down. I didn’t care whether we got the shot or not. Then I looked at the camera to see the results. ‘Wow,’ I exhaled in relief, pleased to see what we’d captured.
How do you define home? Where you live now? Where you grew up? Where your family is? Or something else? Oftentimes how I interpret where home is depends on how I feel, who’s asking, or any other possible variable. My definition of home feels like it’s always changing and lately I’ve been thinking about where exactly that even is for me.
Days are getting shorter. Nights are getting cooler. There’s no way to avoid the fact that it’s autumn and summer is over. Luckily, I had this cozy Fila crop top to help with the transition from my barely there outfits of summer to layered looks for fall.
With LoveMirian‘s first birthday fast approaching I can’t help but reflect on the past year. There has been so much growth personally, professionally, and creatively. There have been setbacks and victories. Failures and successes. I’m far from where I want to be but happy to be here and happy to have you with me.
Summer’s not over just yet! At least not over here. As the days have been getting cooler and shorter I’ve been feeling myself getting nostalgic for the summer that just slipped away. What better time than now to put out my series of shots in a throwback Wrangler two piece set? It’s 90’s feel good vibes to relive summer ’16 one more time…
IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! Let’s party!
Wine. Mustard. Terracotta. Olive. These are the official colors of the fall season. These deep hues look amazing on medium to dark skin with warm undertones from bronzed tawny complexions to caramel and the darkest chocolate shades. If you fall into that description these are the colors that accent you best and when autumn arrives and everything on the retail market is coming out in this spectrum, this is your time to shine.
If you’re like me though, very fair in complexion, even my warm undertone can’t make this palette look good on me.
I’m actually the fairest of them all and Snow White jacked my steez. I’m more suited to the spring palette and these colors make me look pale and sickly. This is part of the reason why I don’t really like fall because aside form the fact that it’s getting colder and I’m dreading winter, all of the cute clothes that come out look bad on me. *Cringe*
Luckily I’ve found a solution.
