Celebrating International Albinism Awareness Day with Diandra Forrest in NYC

Back in May a friend with albinism contacted me to let me know Diandra Forrest (a well known model with albinism) was putting on a charity fundraiser and fashion presentation for the third annual International Albinism Awareness Day. They also let me know she was looking for models with albinism to join her. I was instantly interested. I’ve never been a part of something like this and the idea of making a quick trip to NYC seemed a little crazy. But after exchanging a few emails with Diandra and the producer putting the event together, I booked my ticket and anxiously waited for the day to arrive.

Music Merch Reclaims Its Place In Fashion

An eternity ago, when I was in high school, I was a punk. More like a punk/goth/anime kid. And one of the staples of my wardrobe were band tees. A friend gave me a The Starting Line tee, I picked up a My Chemical Romance tee from Hot Topic, and a few of my comrades wore this popular tee to showcase their love for The Used. Serving Up Attitude in Untitled&Co

As you guys already know, my love for local Toronto fashion and lifestyle brand Untitled&Co runs pretty deep. I’ve always admired their fun, youthful style that is sexy, unique, and always empowered. I love that when I go to their physical store at 438 Queen St W in Toronto, it’s run entirely by other ambitious young people like myself.

So when they asked me if I wanted to do a shoot together again my answer was obvious: YAAAAS!

Fashion, Food, & Culture in Lagos, Nigeria

The city of Lagos, Nigeria is bursting with life! Broken up into three separate parts – Lagos Island, Victoria Island, and Ikoyi Island – all are their own little worlds connected by bridges and a flowing lagoon underneath.

While I stayed on Lagos Island during my vacation earlier this month, I visited each island getting a chance to soak in some of what each has to offer. Whether my experiences revolved around food, fashion, or culture, I constantly felt immersed in my Naija heritage.

Retro Adidas Reflections

With LoveMirian‘s first birthday fast approaching I can’t help but reflect on the past year. There has been so much growth personally, professionally, and creatively. There have been setbacks and victories. Failures and successes. I’m far from where I want to be but happy to be here and happy to have you with me.

What better time than now to put out my series of shots in a throwback Wrangler two piece set? It’s 90’s feel good vibes to relive summer ’16 one more time…
